I broke it!

I still can't believe I did this.  I miss my step of the stupid curb and go down like a bag of dirt. Yeah, I freakin broke it.

I have never broke a bone my entire life.  The dr. Told me it is a displace fracture of the fibula.  Technically a broken leg.  Good news is he doesn't think I will need surgery.  The down side, I can not put any weight on it at all.  Needless to say I have spent the past few days confined to either bed or the sofa.  I am stinky and ill!   Brad has stepped up to the plate and has been the most awesome caretaker in the world!

Since I am stuck with my leg in the air, I decided this would be some prime crochet time.  So I have been playing with some mitered squares.  I believe this is the direction I am going.

Oh....if you would like the pattern, you can find it here!  http://hooked-on-needles.tumblr.com/post/19830051195/corinascorner-i-love-the-way-these-squares-were

I decided I would reverse the colors so they are opposite, so when I join them they will have this effect.

There are a lot of ends to be woven in, so now I am crocheting over the ends as I go along.  I think this is going to make an awesome blanket!

Phoebe is not quite sure of what to make of this contraption on my leg.  She stays by my side all day.

How sweet is that!

Her right eye is bothering her a little bit.  She was even rubbing her face on my cast, so I know it is itchy.  Poor little booger!

I will definitely be back this week with more progress, no complaining about not having time to crochet and blog!

Blessings Dawn; So enjoy sharing in your adventures on this blog. We have a small sweetie with an eye problem. Her's started the same way with the rubbing and we wanted to possibly warn you before little CoCo's outcome happened to another family. We didn't look into the symptoms soon enough. And, although our little gal has a wonderful life--she lost sight in that eye. May healing occur quickly to that leg and enjoy your hooky time. Hugs, Sandie

I'm sorry to hear of your broken leg, Dawn! That is awful. But, at least, you get a good excuse to stay put and crochet. :-)

Get better soon!

screen ckotabYou poor thing! I have never broken a bone either. Thanks for the pattern link. What type yarn are you using? You always have such beautiful colors. Hope you are feeling better.

OUCH! That looks painful! Sorry to hear about this. I bet Phoebe is happy you are there with her so much though. She's a nice buddy to have around while your down, I bet. Hope you get lots of good hooky time in and it distracts you from your ankle. Ugh!

Sorry about your ankle!! Love your Blog! The link you left for the pattern of the mitered blanket doesn't work. I typed in it and went to hundreds of patterns but not sure what the blanket is called. Could you give us the pattern again. Thanks and happy crocheting.

So sorry about the break! How awful and painful...do you have a cast on it? Where abouts is the break...how'd you do that so I can avoid it! LOL! Just kidding.
I love the squares but when you put them together my eyes suddenly crossed...not to worry, they do that occasionally anyway. I have a thing for blankets but I'm probably about 6 deep right now. Why couldn't I have "thing" for coasters or potholders? Glad to know we'll be seeing and hearing more from you....so you're saying we bloggers are what you entertain yourself with when you have nothing better to do? LOL! Don't worry...I'm not offended...I love all your projects!
Is Phoebe allergic at all? Because both my dogs are scratching and licking right and rubbing their eyes on the rug, me...whatever they can find AND they are shedding to beat the band..."don't worry birds of AR"...there will be plenty of nest making material for all.
I hope you enjoy your "time out/off" and that you are not in any pain. Do you have enough yarn? This would be a terrible time to tun out! All sizes of hooks close by?
Take care!

Ouch! Well, at least you've got the crotchet to keep your mind and body at ease. It's good to have these kinds of activities in the meantime. Though I think, you should have that checked by medical hospital when you're ready, so you could see if there's some lingering damages still there. Maybe an X-ray or two wouldn't be amiss.
